Shows galore and a big announcement!
"Mr. Cardboard Presents..." in NY, shows in London, and EdFringe news!
Dear Cardboard lovers,
We are back in your precious inboxes to deliver a BIG cardboard announcement and tell you about some exciting shows in YOUR city in YOUR near future!
We’ll start with the shows!
Firstly, New York’s very first:
Mr. Cardboard Presents…
The real Mr. Cardboard himself is hosting a night of wonder at the Brooklyn Comedy Collective on Thursday, March 27th, at 8:30 PM. The red carpet will be out as it will be the premiere screening of “Hearts of Cardboard”, Jill Calderon’s documentary following the Mr. Cardboard team during their Edinburgh Fringe run! The show will also feature performances from the incredible Ike Ufomadu, Benny Feldman, and Delia Delia the flat-chested witch. Each one of our three acts is, without overstatement, an unmissable big deal!
Tell your coolest friends and most influential loved ones because I am so excited about this show and would love to see everyone in the world (up to 120 people) there.
If you can’t make it or (more statistically likely) you don’t live in New York, you can watch Jill’s documentary here! It is a striking, intimate look at creators, collaboration, and friendship in the face of a daunting month-long gauntlet. It is chocked full of levity and beautiful moments and very worth the time.
If you’re a New Yorker who won’t be satisfied with just one show, then come out to the Cobra Club for
A Night of Drama On April 5th!
Our cross-continental sister show is back, and it is a perfect opportunity to see Miles and Jill Calderon tread the boards. Time Out called it “one of the Christmas shows happening in NYC” last season, and they weren’t wrong!
But if your side of the pond is a bit more Great Britanic, we have plenty for you, too!
Our very own Levi Meltzer of Huxley fame has been a busy duck in London and has dates for his brand new show, READYMADES!
You can catch it as a part of Brighton Fringe’s weekend of weird on May 24th or in London at the PEN theater on April 26th. It seems from the outside to be a show of urinals, shadow puppets, and other physical essotera but none of us could truly say until we see it.
And if that isn’t enough for you hungry London audiences, you can also catch Levi in A Night of Drama on April 17th.
With all those exciting events out of the way, we can tease you no longer. We are very excited to announce that Mr. Cardboard will be coming back to the Edinburgh Fringe with Underbelly!
That’s right! From July 31st to August 10th, you will be able to catch the unsheilded whimsy of Mr. Cardboard at the prestigious Underblley Cowgate, Edinburgh. The Duo will be reunited, and tears will be jerked in one of the festival's best programmed real venues with producing consultancy by Liebenspiel!
That’s all the good news for now, but thank you for reading, see you soon, and Think Cardboard Thoughts.
Graciously,
The Mr. Cardboard team
